The Blast Frozen Jam

The weekend of the 27th and 28th of feb was the Bast Fozen Jam, its an annual event held by the local kite surfing school and it meant as a fun event to get the locals together and a bit of stoke going in the coldest part of the year.

This year it was to be held at Aberavon and on the Saturday we were greated by a gentle breeze that didn’t lift to much all day so there was a bit of rolling about on the land but nothing to really do anything with apart from the odd ground trick but Sundays forcast was looking decidedly better.

A 10 am check in meant my plans of a night out could still go ahead if I set enough alarms to get my out of bed in the morning and I managed to get to the beach for about 10.45 fortunately id called them in advance to let them know I was still going and as it’s a fun event and the wind wasn’t due to kick in until later in the day they let me register.

There was lots of giggles and the guys at blast had some new toys to demo but it was all about the land boarding for me, with the wind still on the light side for most of the day I stuck to my 12m Vegas and made the most of what the wind offered.

Pulling almost every trick I could out of the bag and loving the new gear for 2010 I was rewarded with best overall on the land for my efforts at the weekend winning a rather nice Animal watch. Infact im wearing it right now though I think I should really set it to the right time so I make it to places when im supposed to in the future ha ha

Happy winds everyone and here’s hoping for a great 2010
